Friday Favorites!

Hi friends!! Happy Friday!!
How was your week??

We've had a good week- my boys have been sick, but thankfully their medicine has kicked in and they are doing better!
This morning- my three youngest kiddos and I are going to my oldest daughter's Christmas performance...please say a prayer for me- my son James is a RASCAL and the performance is in the school library. I am already having visions of him running around and just knocking down every book he can get his hands on! HA!

It's time for some FAVORITES from this past week!

//ONE//
After the kids go to bed, I usually still have several things I need to get done. Well...on Tuesday night, I took a shower and realized I didn't have anything I had to do. So I got in bed, painted my nails (something I have been wanting to do for about a month now!) and read my newest Good Housekeeping magazine. It was DELIGHTFUL!
//TWO//
Earlier this week, we got a good amount of snow- and while I REALLY don't like snow- it has made everything look SO pretty. I have loved driving up to my house and seeing my snow covered yard and my porch all decorated for Christmas :)
I pretty much decorated my porch the same as I did last year, except I got a fresh wreath from Home Depot (for $6.88!!!) instead of using one of my burlap wreaths. I love how the fresh green pops against the red door!! Next year, I have plans for Aaron to make me a sign that says "JOYFUL" and I want to put that in place of my "Welcome" sign!
//THREE//
Do you need a last minute stocking stuffer for one of your kiddos? Or a book to bring to a gift exchange? I got this "Ready, Set, Find Christmas" book for James for St. Nicholas Day and it is SO cute. While James isn't super interested in looking at it (I am lucky if he sits still for 5 seconds- HA!), my girls absolutely love looking at it!
You can find it HERE on Amazon!

Um. So I have a new FAVORITE candle. I have heard about the fancy Voluspa candles from many bloggers...but have never bought one. They are $16- which is not terribly expensive for a candle...but it's definitely more than I like to pay. Well- I was perusing Aldi's weekly ad and saw they had look-alike Voluspa candles on special this week.
I was totally intrigued!! I had my husband pick me up a couple to try out and OMG. They are amazing!!! They are a soy candle and I got the scents: blue spruce and fireside night. My Aldi also had a pomegranate scent. I burned the blue spruce scent yesterday and my whole house smelled HEAVENLY. They are $7 each and look IDENTICAL to the Voluspa candles...even down to the packaging. I ended up getting two more- one for my mom and one for my sister- because they are the perfect gift!! If you have an Aldi close by- definitely go check out these candles- they will be in the aisle where they have all the seasonal non-food items.

  2. I love your front door! 6.88 at Home Depot?? Is it an artificial wreath or a real one? That's a deal, girl! I want a sign for our door too. I'm thinking reversible for fall & Christmas.

  4. Your porch is so cute! I love all the pops of red. Also, that candle looks amazing. I picked up something similar (a pack of 3 for $15 at Costco) and they come in a pretty tin and are soy based as well. They smell amazing. I am a basic Bath and Body Works candle gal :) Have a great day and a great weekend!

  9. I'm so glad you got to sit and relax a bit one evening this week. Painting my nails has been on my to do list for at least two weeks and keeps getting put off. Maybe this weekend :) Love your pretty front porch with all those pops of red and that plaid blanket. Looks really festive. Hope the performance went well and that your start to Christmas break is wonderful. Glad you're enjoying the new Christmas book - it's a favorite at our house.
