10 Reasons I am loving the South!
Hi friends!! Happy Tuesday!!
So- we have only lived in North Carolina for a little over 2 weeks now...but it sure feels like we've been here a lot longer!!
Aaron and I were just talking the other day about how "at home" we already feel in Greenville and how much we both just LOVE living in the South!
So- because I love to make lists (like I really love them. Please tell me I am not the only one obsessed with making lists! HA!) - I thought I'd share my 10 reasons why I am loving living in the South!
1. Everyone is SO nice!! Like- SO SO nice! It's so refreshing!
2. Southern accents. I can't get enough of them!
3. I am not sure if this is a Greenville "thing" or a Southern thing- but almost every grocery store I have been to has parking reserved at the front, especially for our Veterans! AMAZING!
4. My girls aren't the only ones wearing giant hair bows!!
5. Everyone says "yes ma'am" and "no sir."
6. We have a REAL Belk store in town! I LOVE Belk's line of children clothing- but I always bought it online since they are nowhere to be found in the "North."
7. People are so open to having random conversations...which is so great for this girl that tends to just ramble on to anyone she meets. HA!
8. It's SO HOT here. And I love it. Give me hot and sweaty any day over being freezing!
9. Did I mention how much I love everyone's accents here?? I seriously can't get enough of them!! Would it be weird if I started talking with a Southern accent??!?
10. Barbecue. It's a SERIOUS thing here and we love it. We've only been to one local barbecue restaurant so far...and I can't wait to try out more!
Hope you have the BEST day!

Welcome!! I wouldn't trade living in the south for anything in this world! It's simply the best! Just wait till football season starts! Oh honey! (and just imagine my southern accent when I said that)
ReplyDeleteDarius Rucker is from South Carolina and he has a song called "Southern State of Mind" Listen to it! It's Perfect!!
Oh the accents, I would just start talking to people so I could hear them speak...so I would fit right in with the random conversation people :) So glad you are loving it!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the South!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are loving life there. We visit Kentucky frequently and I love the accents, wish I talked that way and everyone there is really friendly to.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're loving in! I live in Western NC and have been here my whole life!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to your new home! I'm so glad you arrived safely and are getting settled in! These are all things I love about the south, although some would argue that Texas is more southwest than south. We don't have veterans parking here...that's pretty cool! I can't wait to catch up with what's been going on with your sweet family.
ReplyDeleteCan I please move in with you?!?!? Hahaha I just know that I was meant to live in the south and somehow was planted the furthest north in this country you can possibly get! hahaha =) I am SO glad you are loving life down in the south!!!
ReplyDeleteNow go have a glass of sweet tea for me! ;)
Yay!! I'm so glad you're already feeling so at home. Isn't the South wonderful?!? I love all of those things you mentioned. It's my favorite to talk to my very Southern former neighbor from Mississippi on the phone or when she leaves me a voice mail. I just adore her accent and could listen to it all day :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing that you have settled so well! Moving can bring with it a lot of stress but it seems like you all took it so well. Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteWe are on our THIRD year living in Alabama (via California and Arizona) and I TOTALLY agree on all of this :) The South is just the SWEETEST!
