Hey Hey Friday!
Hey hey friends!! Happy Friday!
How has your week been?
We have had a great, busy week filled with school, volleyball, piano, wrestling, cheerleading and lots of homework :)
It's a half day for my four younger kiddos today. If you have school age kids- how do half days go for ya'll? I find half days to be kind of "special." HA! In theory- I love the idea of getting an extra couple of hours with the kids home...but in reality- they come home starving because they haven't eaten lunch and then they kind of just don't know what to do with themselves.
They always manage to find something fun to do...but I guess what I am saying is: I would take a full school day over a half day. And I think my kids would agree with me! HA!
Okay. Time to share a few things that have brought me joy this week!
//ONE//
Baking pumpkin muffins for my daughter's school.
Charlotte's high school is divided into 4 "houses" and Charlotte's house had apple cider and pumpkin muffins/bread for the whole school on Wednesday morning. Parents signed up to provide the muffins/bread :)
I used the Trader Joe's pumpkin bread mix- it is SUPERIOR. Then when the muffins came out of the oven- I dipped them in butter and then cinnamon sugar. Charlotte told me EVERYONE loved them and one of her friends took 2 extra muffins and stashed them in his locker. HA!
I love baking and I love knowing it brought a little joy to lots of Charlotte's friends :)
//TWO//
I bought a swanky cover for my car key/remote and I LOVE it. It is the most UNNECESSARY item- but it makes me happy! I got it on sale during prime days for just under $8 and as I was pushing the "buy now" button- I was thinking to myself- "do you REALLY need to get this??!"
I did NOT need it- but it's so fun!!
And I am in a NO PURSE era...it's just me, my phone and my keys- so having a "cute" set of keys makes sense! HA! :)
You can search on Amazon for cover that will fit your specific car!
Here's the link to the one I purchased!

I have been listening the song, "Highlands (Song of Ascent) by Hillsong United on REPEAT all week. My heart has been so heavy lately in regard to the state of our world...this song has been a balm to my soul. I don't know about you- but sometimes it can be hard to come up with the prayers/words you want to say to God. That's why I find music to be so powerful.
This song has become a prayer for me!
You can listen to it HERE.
I am so so happy to be heading into the weekend!
Do you have any fun plans? Or is it a chill/relaxing kind of weekend?
A few things I am looking forward to over the next few days:
- my workout today! I am doing a 60 minute walk + run with Jess Sims (one of my FAVORITE Peloton instructors) and I am very excited about it. Longer duration walk + run classes are my favorite.
- hugging my husband and snuggling my face in his neck when he gets home today from a long week of work!
- we're having our annual "fall family fun day" on Saturday. We're going to a local pumpkin patch (we go to the same one every year) and then watching a movie in our backyard on Saturday night!
- Our school is celebrating Grandparent's Day on Sunday and this will be the FIRST EVER grandparents day we've actually had a grandparent come! :) My mom will be there and it should be a lovely morning!
So much goodness! I am so thankful.
Before I sign off...

Regine- your kind words mean so much! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just checked out that song, and love it added to my favorites.
ReplyDeleteour schools do not do half days which I am thankful for. it just sounds so hectic with parents schedules.
It sounds like a busy week.
ReplyDeleteI used to love half days when my girls were at school but they didn't happen often.
Those pumpkin muffins look so good and that cover for your car key remote might not be necessary but if it brings you joy it is worth it! It is very cute.
The butter and cinnamon sugar on pumpkin muffins is a great idea! I have made doughnut muffins that are made with butter and cinnamon sugar but I never thought about trying that with pumpkin muffins! And your fall family fun day sounds so fun! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose muffins look delicious! We have a quiet weekend at home and I am so thankful since I'm fighting off a nasty cold.
