Friday Favorites!
Hi!! Happy Friday!!
Is anyone else having a hard time believing Thanksgiving was JUST LAST WEEK? I feel like I have been in a time warp this week!
It's been a great week at house despite a couple bumps in the road with two of my kiddos getting sick. It is Friday, everyone is healthy and IT IS ALL GOOD :)
Here's a few of my FAVORITES from this past week!
ONE
I am totally a Christmas music freak and have it constantly playing on Pandora. The other day, the kids and I were listening to Christmas music, and while I absolutely love Josh Groban and his angelic voice, I needed to make a CHANGE and fast. My children were groaning that I had put Christmas music on AGAIN. HA!
So I looked up "Country Christmas" music stations and Alabama Christmas was one of them. Um. YES PLEASE. I love Alabama. Totally classic country. It is my new favorite Christmas station on Pandora!
TWO
Speaking of music....I have a confession to make. I am completely OBSESSED with Adele. I know. Just like the other 20 million people across the world. HA! But seriously- my husband and I watched her on the Jimmy Fallon show- and I am just crazy about her. She is gorgeous, poised, hysterical and it is almost hard to understand how talented she is. I have listened to her performance of Water Under the Bridge on Jimmy Fallon's show about 100 time this past week. And when she sang Hello with The Roots and Jimmy Fallon?!? My girls and I watch this video daily. LOVE it. REALLY hoping Santa puts Adele's new album in my stocking this year!! (hint, hint Aaron! :)
THREE
Yesterday was my birthday and I am so excited about the presents I was gifted!! My parents give me a very generous birthday check and with that money I was able to score a beautiful new pair of tall, black leather boots (I got them on Amazon a couple weeks ago for $57- but now they are back up to over $100- BOO!) and a new pair of running shoes!! I snatched up the running shoes on Black Friday when Amazon was having an extra 30% off of their shoes! And Aaron and the kids got me the Kate Spade Glitter Studs that I have been wanting forever! I am not the type of person to shop for myself (outside of practical needs) and it was so fun to get a few, new FUN things!!
FOUR
So...like I mentioned- yesterday I turned the big 3-5! And to be totally honest...the day itself was not the best. I woke up feeling absolutely wretched...I assumed I had caught the tail end of the stomach bug my girls' had- I was finally able to eat for the first time around 2:00 pm, Aaron and I might have gotten into a little tiff (ahem) and the kids, let's say, were EXTRA SPECIAL, when they got home from school. HA!
But you know what- I still felt SO LOVED and BLESSED all day long. I felt little baby kicks from our precious baby cinque all day, I got emails, texts and phone calls from friends and family, and I just thought all day long about how HAPPY I am to be turning another year older- HEALTHY, as wife to my wonderful husband and a mother to my 4 (soon to be 5) children.
And despite feeling pretty yucky, right around 5:00 pm, I started feeling a little better and Aaron surprised me by telling me we were going out for a quick birthday dinner while our wonderful friend Katie came over to watch the kids! He arranged her to come over without me knowing- which was SO sweet!!
We had the BEST time- and spending just an hour with this guy was the best present I got all day long!
And how could I leave out these four?!? I can't tell you how many times yesterday Aaron and I said, "You know what Mommy wants for her birthday?? NO WHINING!" HA!
As crazy as these precious kids drive me...they are the reason for my constant source of JOY.
My cup runneth over.

ReplyDeleteHappy belated Birthday!! I LOL-ed at your husband's birthday wish for you- whenever my girls ask what I want for a gift (bday/Christmas/Mother's Day), I always tell them "I just want you to be nice to each other and not whine." My youngest keeps it real, though, and tells me "That probably won't happen, so what would you like me to BUY for you?!"
