Weekly Walmart Finds!

 Hi!! Happy Wednesday!!
Half way through the work/school week- YAY! :)

I have a few fun things I wanted to share with you today for my "Weekly Walmart Finds."

We are nearing the end of the school year and I always like to get my girls' teachers a little something small to let them know how much we have appreciated them throughout the school year!
Last year, the girls picked out a cute pair of flips flops and a fun nail polish for each of their teachers- and it was such a hit! The teachers loved that the gift was functional and that it something they could look forward to using on summer break.
So we decided to go that route again this year- except we changed it up just a bit- we did flip flops and water bottles. We actually got our water bottles from the Dollar Tree and our flip flops from Target.

Well...I was at Walmart the other day and saw a few other items that I thought would be the perfect "End of the Year- YAY! Summer is Here" gift for a teacher or daycare provider! Or maybe you have a friend who needs a pick-me-up and you wanted to get her a little something. Or- maybe its YOU who needs a little FUN and SUMMER in their life right now- I think these "finds" might be just right for you!

First up- this FABULOUS smelling soy candle by Burt's Bees. Did you know Walmart has a WHOLE line of these Burt's Bees candles? They are made out of soy and are paraben free.  And for being a higher end candle- most of them are still under $12! I just got my friend one of these candles as a "thank you" for watching our kids while I was in the hospital with little Marshall.  I got her the Island Nectar scent- it smells so wonderful and tropical! I also thought this Hibiscus Bloom would be a perfect summery scent!
To go with a summery scented candle, how about a fabulous beach towel?? I am in LOVE with this bold printed, oversized beach towel!  It is by Better Homes and Garden and is $13.07.  I think this would be a perfect teacher gift by itself or with a fun magazine tucked inside of it! If your budget is a little more flexible you could pair with one of the Burt's Bees candles and a pair of the flip flops pictured below! Beach towels can get pretty pricey- I feel like they average more like $20 at places like TJ Maxx- so $13 for a soft, oversized beach towel is pretty awesome!  This particular towel comes in a couple other patterns- all of which are super colorful and fun- check them out here, here and here!
And finally- nothing screams summer more than a fun pair of flip flops- at least in my opinion :)  These flip flops are only $2.50 (they are on sale right now!) and come in lots of fun colors/patterns. These are the flip flops the girls got their teachers last year.  The only reason we got our flip flops for the girls' teachers this year from Target was totally a convenience thing :) We were there and at the time I was VERY pregnant and just wanted to get the teacher gifts taken care of- HA!
Anyway- LOVE this fun leopard print!! And at $2.50 a pair- you could pick yourself up a couple of pairs to wear to the pool, park and wherever you and crew goes during the summer time!
And I just had another thought- how fun would it be to get a bunch of these flip flops as a favor for a bridal shower or bachelorette party?!?
Hope you have the BEST day and if you end up picking up any of these items from Walmart- let me know what you think!! :)

  6. Super cute teacher gift idea! I love the BHG line at Walmart - it always seems to be good quality. Another cute addition to the "beach" theme would be a Sonic gift card. Everyone around here loves to get summertime drinks at Sonic!

  8. I always appreciated end of the year teacher gifts when I was teaching. I love getting cute beach towels because they're expensive to buy yourself. Those flip flops are really cute and under $5 is amazing. I also loved when people who give me creative gifts - cute set of cups & lemonade mix, a giant roll of cute wrapping paper saying we're wrapping up a great school year and pretty potted plants. Teachers love to feel appreciated. Oh and one more thing I loved to get that was FREE were handwritten notes of appreciation. I still have a file today filled with sweet notes from parents and it's one of my most treasured things from when I was teaching.
