Thoughts for Thursday!

Hi! Happy Thursday!!

About a month ago- I wrote a post about switching my online Weight Watchers membership to a "meetings" membership. You can read about it HERE!
In a nutshell- I am in the process of getting to my goal weight and achieving Lifetime Status with Weight Watchers!

I have been working at this goal for a little over month now- so I thought I would share my progress so far and a few of my favorite meals I eat- EVERY single morning. What can I say- I am a creature of habit! HA!

Progress: I have lost 6 pounds as of last Saturday's weigh in!! I am really happy with this!
I will tell you- I am staying on track 100% and working out 3-4 days a week- which I know has played a huge part in my weight loss!
I have 4 more pounds to lose- and my goal is to do that in the next four weeks!
Weight Watchers was having a promotion from 12/26/16 - 1/16/17- that if you joined during that time and lose at least 10 pounds in your first 2 months being on the program- you get 2 months of your membership for FREE! So- since I really want to get to my goal weight as soon as possible AND because I am so cheap- that is what I am doing! I am going to be fighting tooth and nail for these 4 pounds- since I am so close to my goal weight- but I am going to DO IT! :)

Several of you have asked me to share meal ideas...so for today- I thought I would show you what I eat for breakfast- every single day of the week. I KNOW- I am SO boring!
I am one of those people that can eat the same thing over and over again!

On mornings I am going to the gym, after I drop my girls off at school, I have a pumpkin pie smoothie for my "first" breakfast. I loosely follow Paleo OMG's recipe for this smoothie- you can find it here! I add a handful of fresh spinach in my smoothie, use stevia as my sweetener instead of maple syrup and I use Orgain Protein Powder! Weight Watchers is a little weird about how they recommend you count Smart Points for smoothies- but for my single serving pumpkin pie smoothie- I count it as 3 Smart Points (email me if you want further explanation on that!!) Sorry I don't have a picture of my smoothie- it's always dark when I am drinking it! HA! It is a lovely shade of brownish green and looks SO not appetizing- but trust me- it is delicious!! :)

Once I get back from the gym- I eat a "second" breakfast. I have found for me- eating 5-6 small meals every 3-4 hours works best for me...I struggle with having low blood sugar and by eating mini meals frequently I avoid getting shaky and overly hungry/HANGRY- HA!
I make an egg white scramble with fresh spinach...and depending on my mood- I will add 1/2 ounce of lean ham or a chicken sausage to my scramble. I also top my egg white scramble with salsa (it's 0 Smart Points!) and sometimes a tablespoon of guacamole if I am feeling fancy ;)
My breakfast in the left picture is 4 Smart Points: Egg whites: 1 SP, 1 tablespoon guacamole SP and 2 slices Fit & Active whole wheat bread: 2 SP. The scramble on the right is also 4 Smart Points- the only difference is that I used a Fit & Active Flatbread instead of 2 slices of whole wheat toast. This is such a YUMMY meal and very filling! If I am feeling extra hungry I will also have some blueberries or a couple of clementine oranges!
These are some of my FAVORITE foods from Aldi that are perfect for whether you are doing Weight Watchers or just working on eating more healthy!
LOVE the Fit & Active lightly salted rice cakes- one rice cake is 1 Smart Point. I always have 2 of these rice cakes with some Better 'N' Peanut Butter (I get mine at Trader Joes!) + 1/2 banana for my afternoon snack. So yummy and filling!!
LOVE the Fit & Active Flatbreads..one flatbread is 2 Smart Points and they are perfect for making breakfast burritos, lunchmeat + veggie wraps, and in place of traditional corn or flour tortillas for tacos!
And this is my favorite sandwich bread- also by Aldi's Fit & Active product line- 2 slices are 2 Smart Points!
I put fresh spinach in my smoothies and add it to my egg scrambles! I also love mixing lettuce and spinach together for salads. Fresh spinach is 0 Smart Points! I just found this chicken sausage at Aldi this past weekend- it is SO yummy and 1 SP for 1 sausage! I have been adding one sausage to my scramble this week- and it has been a super tasty way to add an extra protein boost to my breakfast! I am super lazy- so I love this pre-made guacamole Aldi carries. I love it because there are no extra weird ingredients in it- and it is basically mashed up avocado with a little seasoning! 1 1/2 tablespoons of this guacamole is 1 SP!  And this is my favorite salsa from Aldi. It is SO yummy and I love putting it on my eggs, on top of my taco salads and dipping raw veggies like carrots and cucumbers in it!
Wow. I feel like this has the potential to be a REALLY boring post for some of you. HA!
In the world of Weight Watchers- I am super basic. I keep it easy and simple and stick to what I know and like. There are SOOOO many amazing people on Weight Watchers who are super creative and inspiring...many of them have awesome Instagram accounts!

The next time I post about my progress- I will share some of my favorite lunch and dinner meals!! I am the absolute worst at remembering to take pictures of my meals- so I am going to work on that over the next couple of weeks!! :)

Let me know if you have any questions- I am happy to answer them to the best of my ability!!!

Hope you have the BEST day!!

Linking up with Annie and Natalie today!

  1. You're a rockstar!! Way to go on getting to close to your lifetime goal. You'll be there in no time. I LOVED seeing what you fix for your early meals in the day and I loved hearing about your favorite Aldi products. I'm hoping to start shopping at Aldi this year so it's nice to know things that you enjoy eating. I love rice cakes, flat bread wraps and we eat a lot of salsa/guac so I'm making an Aldi wish list :)
