Friday Favorites!
Hi!! Happy Friday!!
Hope it's been a great week for you!!
We've been getting back into the swing of things after getting home from vacation and the 4th of July holiday. The weather has been a bit wonky the last few days- but the weekend forecast looks gorgeous and I am excited to spend some good time at the pool with my crazy crew tomorrow!
We had the most FUN day yesterday celebrating our precious James- he turned two!
I have decided that 2 year old birthdays are one of my FAVORITE ages to celebrate- here's why:
ONE
It is SO easy to decorate for a 2 year old who has really no opinion on his birthday "theme."
We picked up all of the decorations for James' birthday at the grocery store Meijer and our local Dollar Tree. The trucks on the table I pulled from one his toy bins. BOOM. Festive Paw Patrol/Construction Theme accomplished! (That's the "theme" the girls decided James wanted- HA!)
Dollar Tree $1 balloons for the WIN! I personally think these balloons last SO much longer than from a place like Party Tree (speaking from experience) and they have so many cute options!
TWO
Cheesy eggs and mini-powdered donuts for breakfast are James' FAVORITES and the joy on his face when I put that "2" candle on his donut tower was just PERFECT.
Just pure happiness over the simplest little thing!
THREE
I always make my kids' cakes/cupcakes for their birthdays and the ones I made for James' birthday might just be a new family FAVORITE. The girls went bonkers for the mini cookies on top of them and I just LOVED the yellow colored frosting with the colorful sprinkles. They just scream HAPPY to me!!
FOUR
This little boy is my absolute FAVORITE 2 year old in the whole entire world. When I was pregnant with James, I thought he would probably be another little girl. It was such a FUN and PLEASANT surprise to hear- "It's a BOY!" He is WILD, JOYFUL and PRECIOUS.
I am so thankful God decided I get to be his mommy.
FIVE
Why can't we all be like a 2 year- no expectations and pure happiness over the smallest things!! Watching James have such a fun day yesterday not only brought me so much joy- but it also gave me some perspective on how simply wonderful things can be.
So thankful for my precious boy!!
Hope you have the BEST day and a wonderful weekend!!!

These are wonderful pictures of James' second birthday. You're right...it's a little easier to plan and decorate for the party when the honoree doesn't have an opinion yet! The cupcakes are so cute...I will have to remember that. My kids would love the little added treat of a cookie on top of the cupcake! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are just adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with the party! Our little is turning 1 (be still my heart!) in a couple of months and I'm already thinking about his party. I'm pretty sure we'll just do a color theme for him this year!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary!! A color theme party will be so fun! There's so many fun ways to decorate with that theme! :)
