Friday Favorites!!

Hi!! Happy Friday!!
We made it! HA! I don't know about you- but this first week back to school and our regular schedule as threw me for a tad bit of a loop!
Between waking up my kids super early for school (who got VERY used to sleeping a little bit longer over Christmas break) and working through several "I AM JUST SO TIRED" tantrums at the end of the day...well- it is safe to say I am ready for the weekend! HA!

I am happy to see Friday- that's for sure! Here are some random (and I mean random) things that have made me happy this past week!

ONE
One of my New Year's goals is to be on my computer/phone LESS and read MORE. For January, my goal is to read one book. I am almost 2/3 of the way done with Winter Stroll and I am LOVING it! It is the sequel to Winter Street- and I just the love easy, fast paced style of writing Elin Hilderbrand has! My next book I have lined up to read is The Rumor (also by Elin Hilderbrand). I am looking forward to seeing what if I like that book as much as I have enjoyed reading Winter Street and Winter Stroll!

TWO
I did a little pregnancy update yesterday- you can check it out here! I am 24 weeks now and I have to tell you- hands down- my FAVORITE pregnancy item- the one I can't live without- is my pregnancy pillow. I have a Bump Nest pregnancy pillow (I know there are some other really good ones out there too!!) and I am totally obsessed with it! My husband got me my Bump Nest pillow when I was newly pregnant with James (my 4th baby) and I have not stopped using it since! Which means- I continued to use it even once I was NOT pregnant with James anymore- HA! It is SO comfortable, so soft, you can wash the cover and PILLOW itself in your washing machine and then dry it- it is AMAZING! If I had to recommend a 'must-have' pregnancy item to any newly pregnant momma- well the Bump Nest pillow would be it!!
(and I feel totally silly saying this- but this is NOT sponsored- I just REALLY love my bump nest pillow!)

THREE
A little personal goal I have for myself this year (I also had the same goal last year and did not do so well with it) is to take an hour a week and paint my nails. I find it to be very relaxing and I really like the look of my nails being painted! My problem is that I CONSTANTLY have my hands in water and have had the hardest time finding a top coat that protects my nails from chipping beyond the first couple of days after I painted them!
Enter: the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. UM. This stuff is AMAZING. It goes on so silky smooth, drys SUPER fast and does the BEST job at keeping my nails looking really nice! I have been able to go a full week (and a couple days more than that too!) without any chips in my nails! Last Saturday, I painted my nails with a Sally Hansen Gel polish and then used my Seche Vite top coat. Six days later it looks like I painted my nails just yesterday! And that is saying A LOT because I am ROUGH on my hands!
If you are looking to try a new top coat- you HAVE to try this one! And it is SO inexpensive!!
Totally a Win-Win!
FOUR
I know I am not the only one who absolutely LOVES Jimmy Fallon. He is one of my absolute FAVORITES!! Did you see Billy Joel and him sing "Beast of Burden" on his show this past week- (it aired on Wednesday night)??? Click here and can watch it!!
He is seriously SO much fun and SO talented!!
And I love how Billy Joel just totally acts unaffected by Jimmy's shenanigans and just keeps playing the piano and singing. Classic!!

FIVE
I was scrolling through my pictures last night- looking for a certain picture of my son and I can across this picture I took of a card my oldest daughter made for Aaron and me.
Is it not the sweetest???
In the last 6 months- she has really started to become a HUGE help around the house (she is always asking me "Is there anything I can do to help?") and has started to become more aware of all the blessings that surround her. I know it is a combination of her growing up, gratefulness being a frequent topic of conversation at our house and what she is being taught at school.
It has been really special to see her maturing into such a precious young lady!!
And looking at those cute bubble letters and that gold start medal sticker-well- it just makes my heart burst! :)

And there you have- a few things that put a big smile on my face this past week! :)

I hope you have the BEST day and a wonderful weekend!!

I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Friday Favorites Link Up!

I am also linking up with April for Five on Friday!
Joining Karli for her, Oh Hey Friday Link Up! too!

  1. I can't begin to tell you how much I LOVED winter street!!! I need to get Winter Stroll asap! I honestly have never read an Erin Hilderbrand book that I didn't like. They are all just so good. I love to read, and honestly need to find more time to do so!
I absolutely love the Sally Hansen gel top coat, and I know a lot of people don't care for it. But I need to try this top coat that you are talking about. You are the second person this week that has recommended it. I'll get it this weekend and next week i'll let you know how I like it =)

    Have a great weekend!!!

  5. Gosh, I want that pillow and I'm not even pregnant! lol. Don't think the hubs would be too excited about that one!

The card from your daughter is TOO SWEET! My oldest daughter is the same way- LOVES to help. She absolutely shows her love with acts of service, and I have to check myself sometimes and remember that while I can usually do things more quickly, it MEANS so much to her to help!

  6. I loved the Winter Street/Stroll books. Beautiful Day is another good one by Hilderbrand. That's my favorite top coat too. It was so cool to see Billy Joel on Jimmy Fallon (always a great show.) We went to a Billy Joel/Elton John concert many years ago. Billy Joel blew EJ out of the water and put on such an awesome show. One of the best concerts I've been to. Have a great weekend!

  7. I just read Winter Street and Winter Stroll! I can't wait for the next one to come out this year! I paint my nails before bed, so I don't have to worry about a screaming kid that needs help 30 seconds after I paint them :) Have a great weekend!

  9. Can't wait to read Winter Stroll! The Rumor wasn't my fav of her books, but definitely held my interest! If you like Elin's books I highly recommend anything by Liane Moriarty. Start with What Alice Forgot!!
