Friday Favorites!
Hi!! How's it going?!?
It has been a little quiet here on the blog this week...I took a little "breather" for a few days. We were out of town last weekend and got back this past Monday. I plan on sharing a little bit more about that next week!
For now- let's talk about the fact it's FRIDAY!! And we are already almost half way through JUNE?!? SLOW DOWN SUMMER!
We had a great week at our house...inlcuding a visit from some of our best friends who live in Ohio! They have 4 kids and you would think it would be pure chaos with 9 kids 7 years and under- but it is quite the opposite!! They all play SO well together and it is just so fun!!
I have some random FAVORITES to share with you today...so here goes! :)
ONE
I have a beautiful Michael Kors watch my husband got for me after I had James...and while I LOVE wearing it every day- it is not the most practical thing for me to have on my wrist during these busy summer months with the kids. It is a very special piece of jewelry to me and I really want to be careful with it! Sooo...I had mentioned to my husband I needed a "sporty" every day watch...because I HAVE to wear a watch. It drives me bonkers not knowing the time! HA! Well...just a couple days ago, while I was doing the dishes after dinner...he comes over and puts a new, hot pink watch on my wrist!! He found it at Nordstrom Rack and waited for it to go on sale (50% off!)- he might have convinced the sales lady to tell him when the next big watch markdowns were going to happen- HA!
Anyway- it's the perfect size, it's waterproof, even though it's substantial in size- it super lightweight and I LOVE it!
TWO
I literally bought nothing new prior to having Marshall...but the one thing I did get was a new nursing cover! I had heard about the Covered Goods nursing cover awhile back and it definitely seems to be very popular here blogland :) Fun fact- Jamie Yetter- the owner of Covered Goods- her husband was a couple years ahead of my husband in medical school! So- once I heard all the rave reviews about the nursing cover AND I found out I could be supporting someone I "knew" - I was sold!
And can I please tell you how much I LOVE this nursing cover??
I have done a lot of nursing in my days- HA! and I have NEVER liked nursing in public because I felt like I couldn't get comfortable!! I am very modest- so I always wanted to feel covered...but I also wanted to be able to comfortably feed my baby when she/he needed to eat! This cover is lightweight, stretchy, covers your entire body- not just the front half and is the BEST. I know I am not some nursing cover expert- but trust me- if you are pregnant or are currently nursing and need a great cover- go get one from Covered Goods!!! There are so many fun patterns and shipping is really fast! Definitely my current FAVORITE baby-related item!!
THREE
I have mentioned my FAVORITE little local grocery store several times here on the blog..but had to give it another shout out :) We have a Fresh Thyme right down the street from us and while I do 85% - 90% of my grocery shopping at Aldi...I also pop into Fresh Thyme weekly to shop their produce sales- because they are AWESOME! This week at our store, red grapes are 0.88/lb and yellow squash and zucchini are 0.88/lb too! It is just the cutest grocery store...kind of like a Trader Joes, Whole Foods and Kroger all mixed into one- if that makes sense!?! You should definitely check and see if you have one in your area- and if you do- go there ASAP! :)

And speaking of Fresh Thyme...that is where the kids and I went the other day! We walked there for our daily exercise and their "treat" for making it to and from the store (it is a solid walk for young kids) was getting a little something from the bulk candy/treat aisle. The rules were they had to keep up with Mommy and they couldn't complain- HA! They did great and earned their treats! And I finally got in some much needed exercise!! I haven't been fully cleared to get back in the gym yet- but my body (and my mind) have been craving some activity, so we have been venturing out for a daily power walk. And it feels SO GOOD.
I also love that the girls are getting their "exercise" and we are doing it together!
(And in case you are wondering where Marshall is...I am wearing him :) I wear him in the Ergo baby carrier, push James and Celine in our double BOB stroller and Charlotte and Cora walk next to me :)
FIVE
We are so excited about this weekend!
Today- the kids and I are going up to the hospital where I had Marshall to drop off some homemade, gigantic chocolate chip cookies and brownies for the all the nurses that took care of Marshall and me. Tomorrow, my parents will be coming into town for a quick visit- because Marshall is getting baptized on Sunday! Aaron will be working A LOT- he is on call- but I am so glad my parents will be around to keep me company and help me wrangle my crazy crew!
Hope you have had a great week!! I have definitely missed checking in to my little space here on the internet this past week and am really looking forward to getting back to my regular posting "schedule" next week!!
Have a WONDERFUL day and a FABULOUS weekend!! :)
I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Friday Favorites Link Up!
