Mid Month Confessions!!

Hi!! How has your week been going?
We are having a ton of fun at my parents' house...but I would be lying if I said I wasn't just a smidge tired from wrangling 6 crazy kiddos (my 4 + my brother's 2 kids) over the past few days- HA!

A good ol' random post felt right for today...so if you are in the mood to read some ramblings- grab a cup of coffee and enjoy! :)

- I feel like EVERYONE is talking about Nordstrom's sale!! I don't have a Nordstrom card- so I won't be shopping early and to be honest- no one in our family needs a THING! So I don't have plans to really do any shopping either.  Buutttt....the one little item I do have my eye on are these.  I know several other bloggers have posted about the "multi" color...but I am all about the silver sparkle!!

- I had kale for the first time last night and really liked it!! My mom grows it fresh in her garden and she made some for dinner last night!! I am going to take a big bag home with me and put it in my smoothies in place of spinach!  I know I am going to sound like a public service announcement- but did you know at just 33 calories, one cup of raw kale has: Nearly 3 grams of protein, 2.5 grams of fiber (which helps manage blood sugar and makes you feel full), Vitamins A, C, and K, Folate, a B vitamin that's key for brain development and Alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid?? Why haven't I been eating this vegetable?!?

- Am I the only one who is totally appalled at this season of the Bachelorette?!? I just really can't handle it.  Despite my strong dislike for how Kaitlyn is conducting herself (and the guys are being equally gross), I am totally reading Sheaffer's Bachelorette Recaps and they are HYSTERICAL!! She is seriously SO funny.

- On Monday, I received a newsletter from our daughters' school saying there were only 37 days left until the first day of school. UGH!!! Why did they have to mention that!?! I am SO not ready for my kids to go back to school!!!

- I typically use unsweetened vanilla almond milk for my coffee "creamer," but my mom got me some Silk Almond Milk creamer and it is SO good!! Such a yummy alternative if you need to avoid dairy but miss have "real" creamer in your coffee.  I am totally one of those people that my creamer completes my coffee...you would have to pay me a lot of money to drink my coffee black!!

- I was getting my hair done yesterday and totally indulging in all the gossipy magazines they had there. While I was reading the latest issue of Us Weekly, my hair dresser directed me to news that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have split!?!  Apparently they have been separated for awhile now?? Have I been living under a rock?!?  This made me SO sad. I really felt like they were one of those couples that had a good, strong, NORMAL marriage!

- I have LOVED being home this week at my parents. Spending time here has confirmed two things: I don't want to live in my hometown (it is very nice here- just a little too small for my liking) and I REALLY want to live in the same town as my family.  We are hoping in the next couple of years that will be a possibility....and I can't wait for it.  I miss my family SO much and am my happiest when I am surrounded by them!!

Okay...I think I have tortured you enough with my rambling, mid-month confessions today :) I am going to stop now :)

Hope you have the BEST day!!!

I am linking up with Heather from Notes From the Nelsen's today!!
