Friday Favorites!
Happy Friday friends!!
How's your week been?? I can't believe we are already back to Friday! Time is FLYING by!!
We are ready for a FUN fall weekend...the weather is supposed to be gorgeous and I can't wait to enjoy it with my kids and hubby!! :)
Okay- time for some FAVORITES from this past week!!
//ONE//
I had a coupon to Target for $10 off a purchase...so I recently picked up this cute Jack-O-Lantern shirt!! I wanted something to wear when we went to our church's fall festival, trunk or treat and honestly...just throughout the month of October :) My girls LOVE that I have a Halloween shirt and I love that they get such a kick out of me wearing it! It's actually SUPER comfy, soft and light-weight...totally my new FAVORITE t-shirt to wear!! :)
Major bonus- IT GLOWS IN THE DARK! :)
//TWO//
I mentioned this in my post on Monday- but I had to talk about it again- because I am SO happy to have found a DAIRY FREE pumpkin spice creamer for my coffee!!! So...a sweet reader, named Laura, last Friday mentioned that Trader Joe's had pumpkin spice almond milk- and I got WAY TOO EXCITED about this bit of information. My oldest daughter and I went to Trader Joe's last Sunday and I pretty much bought what was left on the shelf. HA!
It is "shelf stable" so- it doesn't have to be refrigerated until it's opened. Hence the reason I was able to buy 7 containers of it. While it is technically a "beverage," I have been measuring it out like I would my "normal" coffee creamer and it has made my morning cups of coffee SO DELIGHTFUL! A new FAVORITE of mine for sure!
//THREE//
Last Saturday night, after the kids went to bed, I spent about an hour, carefully painting my nails. They had been dry for about a half hour when Aaron and I headed up to bed. Well- I go to take the pillow shams off of our bed and pull back the covers- and then looked down at my nails and they were all COMPLETELY smudged!! I was SO annoyed!
So...the next day, once the boys were down for their nap- Aaron told me to go up to the local nail salon and get a coat of polish put on them and to sit under the nail dryer until they were totally dry :) Charlotte came with me and we had the best time picking out a "Halloweenish" colored nail polish! We ended up deciding on a dark purple and I love how it looks! Charlotte said it is definitely her FAVORITE fall nail polish color :) For $8- I was able to get my nails painted (I didn't get a manicure- just base coat + polish + top coat)...and they still look great- almost a week later! I just got a new base coat- so I am going to try another "home manicure" this weekend- wish me luck!! :)
//FOUR//
I have been wanting a spiralizer for quite awhile...and a couple weeks ago, Aaron came home from work with a bag from Homegoods with this spiralizer inside of it!! :) UM. I am OBSESSED with spiralizing things now!! It's my new FAVORITE way to eat my veggies :) I do not eat a lot of carbs...so I love having a new way to prepare my vegetables!! I haven't had a chance to get super creative with different veggies- but I can tell you- I am definitely going to be trying out this recipe by Gina from Skinnytaste- doesn't that combo of brussel sprouts and chicken sausage sound amazing?? And I would NEVER have thought to spiralize a parsnip! Do you have a spiralizer?? If you have any recipes to share with me- please do!! :)
//FIVE//
This weekend I have *BIG* plans to get the kids' closets organized and their clothes switched over from their spring/summer wardrobes to their fall/winter wardrobes. While I am going through clothes, I am going to have the girls go through their toys and trinkets and we are going to have a good ol' fashioned PURGE of stuff! HA! I can already tell you this experience will not be one of my most FAVORITE activities this weekend...but I know in the end it will feel so great to have their room and closet be organized and cleaned out!
And how funny is this!?!? Are my girls the only ones who do this?? HA! They haven't played with, let alone, seen a certain toy for MONTHS and then as soon I as say it's time to organize and get a box together of toys to donate- it becomes their most TREASURED possession. HA!
Hope you have the BEST Friday and a WONDERFUL weekend!!
Isn't that the worst? I think my nails are dry & then bam. I love the color you chose! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have to declutter my daughter's bedroom when she's out as she's very reluctant to get rid of things, she has to keep everything but I bet she doesn't even know half of what's in her room.

Try seche vite topcoat. It's amazing! I've done my nails in bed and never had a sheet mark. It dries super quick.
ReplyDeleteThat is the top coat I use too! :) it's my favorite! Not sure what happened this last time- but I am going to give it another try this weekend! ;)
DeleteI love your nail polish! It's the perfect fall color =) I have a spiralizer, but the only thing I have ever used it for is zucchini. I need to look at more recipes for it as well. Have a great Friday and weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteHey friend! Check out the blog- Inspiralized: https://inspiralized.com...she just published a cook book and it is filled with recipes all using a spiralizer!! :)Hope you have a great weekend too friend!!
DeleteLove your nail color:)
ReplyDeleteI bought a spiralizer but I'm with Johannah..only used it for zucchini and I used it for spaghetti noodles!
My kids DO the same thing, so I always try to clean out their rooms while they are at school! HA
Happy Friday friend!
Thanks friend!! I have only experimented with zucchini too...I can't wait to branch out with other veggies!! And that's such a great idea to clean out stuff while they are gone at school...what they don't know won't hurt 'em...right?? HA!
DeleteOK... I have a helpful suggestion for you about your nails!! The top coat that I use dries SUPER FAST and your nails will be very shiny for days!!!!!!! I have been using it for a few years now and never have smudges or sheet marks any more!! It is called SECHE VITE dry fast top coat!! Seriously... all layers of color will be dry in 10 minutes or so! It is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat is the top coat I use too!! I have never had problems with it smudging before- so i am thinking I may have put my nail polish on too thick! You are totally right- it really is the best top coat!!
ReplyDeleteDid your pumpkin tshirt run small or true to size?
ReplyDeleteI usually wear a small- and I got a medium! :)
DeleteThanks! And try running your nails uNder water and then air drying when you think they are dry! Works every time for me! No smudges!!
DeleteOh my goodness.. I may just have to go to Trader Joe's now!
ReplyDeleteThat nail polish is fall perfection! Great pick! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Britt!! :) Hope you have a great weekend too!! :)
DeleteLove your new nail color! Glad you remedied that situation. I hate when I spend time doing my nails and they get smudged. You'll have to share your spiralizer tips and recipes. They've always intrigued me, but we don't own one. I have her that TJ or Homegoods is the place to find them very affordably so way to go to your hubby :) Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so much!!!! Ok, so strange...but have you ever sprayed your nails with Pam spray a minute or 2 after painting...it dries your nails and sets them so well:)
ReplyDeleteJen! You are SO sweet!! Thank you! And NO- I have never done the Pam trick...but you can bet I will be trying that this weekend!!! :)
DeleteI have to confess... at home manicures are where it's at. Not only are the cheap (once you buy your polish and such) but I swear they last longer.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad they had the pumpkin spice almond milk at your TJ's, I love it! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteLove your nail color! That's a great color for the season!
ReplyDeleteI recently got a spiralizer, too, and am loving using it! There are so many tasty recipes on Pinterest!
That cleaning ecard is so true!! But, atleast their occupied, right?? Have a fantastic weekend!
Love your nail polish and Halloween shirt :) So cute!
