5 on Friday!!

Happy Friday!! Can you believe it is May 1st??!!  I hope everyone has had a great week!  I feel like this week for us has flown by pretty fast! We don't have anything exciting planned for the weekend...but the weather forecast looks GORGEOUS so I know we will be having a lot of fun adventures outside!

Soo...I feel like I know a lot of women who are pregnant right now!  Which is so fun and exciting :)  One of my best friends is expecting her SIXTH baby in just a few months and since we live far away from each other, I have been thinking of items that would make the perfect "New Momma Care Package" to send her after she has had her baby.  

After having had 4 babies myself....it was pretty easy to come up with some favorites that I would have LOVED for someone to have sent me in that first month of being home with a new baby!

ONE

For the baby....

With all 4 of my babies, a good tight swaddle, a paci and a dose of gas drops was the magic formula for good sleep :)  Aiden and Anais blankets, soothie pacifiers and Little Tummys gas drops are my FAVORITE things to give a momma with a newborn! I don't feel like you can ever have too many swaddle blankets, pacifiers on hand or gas drops at the ready!

TWO

For mommy...

So obviously mommy is not getting much sleep and most likely she is also not getting to shower as often as she would like.  For me- good strong coffee, some dry shampoo and a swipe of concealer under my tired eyes ALWAYS made me feel better after a loonngg night up with my newborn and/or my other kids!! These items are definitely some of my top FAVORITES after having a baby....heck- they are my favorites all the time! HA!

THREE

For big sister(s)...

Having 3 other kids...I ALWAYS make sure to remember a little gift for the siblings when I send a package for the new baby.  I can't tell you how wonderful it was to have my friends remember my girls when they sent something for James!! It made them feel so special and it gave them something to play with during one of my many nursing sessions! :) It doesn't have to be anything big...a coloring book and markers, a new DVD to watch or my favorite are these mini princess dolls. My girls have a bunch of them and LOVE them!  Definitely a FAVORITE little gift for little girls!

 FOUR

For big brother...

Again...so important to remember the siblings when you send a package! Or even if you are able to visit your friend in person, it is nice to just have something little for the siblings.  It is A LOT to take care of a newborn...add other kiddos in the mix and it can be a tad overwhelming those first few weeks :)  A little gift for the siblings can brighten their day- which in turn brightens mommy's day! :)  Anyway...for big brother...new matchbox cars!  When my girlfriend had a baby earlier this year, I sent her son some of these in her care package.  She was SO grateful and said her son just loved the cars!! Not a big gift at all...but one that almost all little boys would love! 

FIVE

For the whole family (especially Daddy)...

We all know how helpful it is to help new mommas out with meals right after they have had a baby.  Well obviously you can't send a meal in the mail- but you can do the next best thing- a gift card!! I love Papa Murphys because they make their pizzas fresh and then you can bake them whenever you want to eat.  But a gift card to any take out place would be amazing!! I don't know about you- but my husband is always hungry and he always wants to know what is for dinner :)  Being given gift cards to get a few pizzas or to a place like 

Chick-Fil-A was by far my FAVORITE gift to be given after having a new baby.  It was such a relief to know we had dinner covered and my husband wouldn't starve. HA!
