Friday Favorites!

Hi!!! Is it just me or did this week totally fly by?
I feel like I was JUST writing my Friday Favorites post for last week...and here we are- only a couple days a way from the beginning of March!!

How was your week?  Our's was pretty standard...nothing too out of the ordinary...which is just fine with me :) We have NO plans for the weekend...but I would really like to tackle the new baby's closet- which is currently serving as our "crap" closet/linen closet. I need to do some major purging and organizing :)  Soo..yeah...a REAL big weekend at our house- HA!

Now let's get to the fun stuff! Here are some FAVORITES of mine from this past week!

ONE
SNUGGLE SCENT BOOSTERS. Do you know about them??? I just got some for the first time and I am LOVING the way they make my laundry smell! I got mine from Walmart.com- you can get them here- or I am sure they are in most other stores. You use one "pod" per load of laundry and it just leaves the nicest, but not overpowering scent on all of your clothes!  Definitely my new FAVORITE laundry product!!
And since I seem to ALWAYS be talking about laundry, on Tuesday, I wrote a post about a new-to-me way I am washing my towels- check it out here!

TWO
I like BIG BOWS and I cannot lie....HA!
My girls wear a big bow in their hair- EVERY DAY- even if we are going to play at the park :)
For the last 4 or so years, I have exclusively bought all of my bows from a website called, Polka Dot Posies. I LOVE the selection of bows Polka Dot Posies' has AND their prices are SO affordable! Well..I love reading Christina's blog and she has mentioned several times her favorite place to buy bows for her daughter is Julia's Bowtique- so of course- I went and checked it out! :)  Their 6 inch wide bows are currently on sale from $8.00 to $4.00- so I decided to order some to see how I liked them!
Annnnddd...I LOVE them!! My girls wear their "shocking" pink colored bows the most- so I got 3 of that color so they could have a nice, new, fresh pink bow for Easter :)
Their white bows have seen better days- so I also got 3 new crisp white bows- but I sized down in these and got the 5 inch size :)
Here's the two bows I got- you can see the pink bow is quite substantial in size and I LOVE it. I know a lot of people think its ridiculous (my husband included- HA!) but a little girl with a big bow in her hair is my FAVORITE :)  I can't wait for Easter when my girls get to wear their new bows with their Easter dresses!! :)

THREE
And speaking of bows, I thought I would share my FAVORITE way to store bows!
I have 3 girls- so you can imagine the amount of bows we have :)
In each of the girls' rooms (Cora and Celine share a room and Charlotte shares a room with James), they have a bow board! We have it hung at their level so they can get their own bows AND put them back at the end of the day :)
Do you know what works perfectly as a bow board?? A photo/memo board like this one from Hobby Lobby! It is lightweight, easy to hang up and we just clip our bows on the ribbon that is supposed to hold pictures and notes. It works GREAT and I think it is super cute looking!
FOUR
Aaron and I watched "The Intern" last Saturday night and it was SO GOOD!!! We loved it! Robert DeNiro is just an incredible actor. And Anne Hathaway is flawless. It is definitely now on my "FAVORITE" movies list!  If you are looking for a fun, light hearted movie to watch this weekend- get to your local Redbox and rent The Intern!!!

FIVE
I saw this quote yesterday and thought "YES."
Just thought I would share some things that I felt grateful for this past week!!

-a washing machine and dryer. I talk a lot about laundry being a pain and never ending- but I am so thankful we have running water and a washer and dryer to wash our clothes!
- that my kids have clean, safe, comfortable beds to sleep in every night. and that they are put to bed by two people who love them and affirm them.
- that I have a healthy, strong body and have been blessed with five uncomplicated, healthy pregnancies!
- that my husband, no matter what time he has to leave for work (sometimes it is REALLY early), always makes me a smoothie for breakfast :)
- for 4 kids, who combined together, probably say "mommy" at least 2,000 times a day :)
What are some things, big or small, that have got you feeling grateful??

Hope you have the BEST Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

  1. I have not tried the Snuggle scent boosters, but I do use the Downy Unstopables and love them!
The bows!! Emma used to wear bows quite often, and Alyx just pulls them out. I wish they would both wear them! ha! =)
I hope you and your family have a great weekend, Justine!

    1. I have used the Downy Unstoppables before and LOVED them! I feel like I had a "portion control" issue with them though- HA!- and I am liking that I can't over do it with the packaged pods :) I am sure you are a much more understanding and kind mommy than me in regard to bow wearing...I don't give my girls a choice- HA!

  4. I bought one of the sets of 30 bows from Julia's when Olive was born and we love them - the quality can't be beat and they run great sales. She's currently boycotting bows so I'm hoping she has a change of heart in the very near future or that I can figure out a good bribe to get her back on the bow wagon :) I'm DYING to see The Intern. I love Anne Hathaway so thanks for the reminder that I need to see it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

  6. Love that quote! I always say I'm not a naturally grateful person, but for some reason laundry makes me SO grateful. I never complain about it because I am honestly in awe that I have machines in my home that wash and dry clothes. It's not like I grew up without them, so I don't know if my experiences in college going to laundromats scarred me or if those nights of kids with tummy bugs really rammed it into my head, but throwing gross laundry into a machine that cleans it is like, the #1 thing that makes me think "man, I am blessed!" Have a great weekend!

    1. Yes! I think we all take things like dishwashers and washing machines for granted- when really in reality they are a TRUE LUXURY. Such a huge percentage of the world doesn't even have access to clean, running water. Perspective is everything :) Have a wonderful weekend!!

    1. You are going to love The Intern!!! It is such a fun movie! And I used to make all of my girls' bows too! I sometimes still do if I can't find what I want for a specific outfit. But yes- at this stage in life- it is just easier to find a good sale and buy them! Hope you have a great weekend too!

  8. :( Oh how I love a bow...but my daughter so does not and never really did!!! Really most of her 3rd grade class doesn't wear bows either - so I guess enjoy while it lasts? Happy Friday Friend!!

    1. HA! Erica- seriously- I have problems with how obsessed I am with laundry!!! I have already picked out a new washer and dryer- for when we move- 1.5 years from NOW. Like I said- I have issues :)

  10. The bow holder board is genius! I loved bows on my daughter when she was little...so cute! Can't wait to see the Intern. I think we are going to get the Good Dinosaur from Redbox this weekend for a family movie night. Also, I loved the gratitude quote. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I really do feel grateful for my life. And grateful for a big washer and dryer too!

  11. If you get a chance, would you be willing to share a post on how you deal with room sharing with your Kids? I have four kids also- oldest is 4 1/2 and youngest 4 months. My older 2 share a room with no problem, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how and when to move my youngest two together (age 2 and 4months). We are happy with youngest in our room for now, but at some stage will need to move him out. Any tips on room sharing with very young kids would be very appreciated. Also any tips on smooth bedtimes with lots of littles. Thanks! :)
