Thoughts For Thursday!

Hi!! Happy Thursday!
I don't know about you- but I am just slightly ready for the weekend!
It has been a full week of appointments, church, and all of my daughters' Valentine's parties are this week- and I ended up being in charge of bringing treats for each of their parties :)  There also might be a certain baby boy in our house who has decided sleeping through the night is overrated. COME ON JAMES :)

I feel like I could sleep for 24 hours and still wake up tired- HA!

Thank goodness for COFFEE :)

So- I mentioned a couple weeks ago that my skin- specifically on my face has been so irritated lately. I think it is a combination of the weird winter weather we're having and my wacky pregnancy hormones probably have something to do with it.
I just got (another) new face wash- Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser- hoping it would help with the redness and puffiness I am having around my eyes and it definitely seems to be helping!

So- even though my new Aveeno face wash combined with me using Cetaphil's moisturizing cream has significantly helped my skin...it still looks pretty rough.  I am currently using a foundation I really like by Maybelline- but am totally intrigued by this Your Skin But Better CC Cream by IT Cosmetics. I have seen the founder of the company on her own infomercial as well as on QVC and I must say- the coverage the cream provides is pretty awesome. I just don't know if I can justify spending almost $40 on a bottle of glorified foundation- when my $9 bottle of Maybelline foundation is doing the job just fine!
Do you use the IT Cosmetics CC cream?? If so- PLEASE tell me what you think of it!!

Totally switching gears from foundations and facial cleansers-
I am curious what your plans are for Valentine's Day!?
Since it falls on a Sunday this year, we will got to church like we do every Sunday and then spend the afternoon baking sugar cookies. Last week I posted about what I got my girls for their little Valentine's presents- check it out here! My husband and I don't really "celebrate" Valentine's Day as far as getting each other gifts or going out for a fancy dinner. I will make us a nice dinner- I am thinking I will make breaded chicken stuffed with spinach, artichokes and cheese, roasted brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes.  Sounds complicated- but should be pretty easy to put together! And then I think I am going to make a lemon meringue pie for dessert. It is a dairy free dessert (minus the very small amount of butter that is used in it)- which is REALLY hard to come by and I am craving citrusy things like you wouldn't believe! And it is one of my husband's favorite pies- so it should be a win-win for us! :)

And while we don't get each other gifts for Valentine's Day, I might have mentioned to Aaron that I would not be mad AT ALL if he picked me this Urban Decay eyeshadow in the color Verve. It is my FAVORITE eyeshadow and I have used up every last bit of it in my Naked eyeshadow palette. In my opinion it is PRICEY at $19- but I wouldn't feel as bad about getting it if he bought it for me as a "gift." Can you see I am REALLY good at rationalizing unnecessary purchases??! HA!

And finally- are you a reader of Grace's blog?? Hands down one of my top three favorite blogs to read. She took a break for awhile- and honestly I wasn't sure (along with thousands of her other readers) if she would come back to writing on her blog. Well a couple of weeks ago- she posted and she is BACK. I am SO happy about this!! She is incredibly witty, tells the best stories about her family, has a beautiful and hysterical perspective on mothering many, young little kiddos (she is a mom of 5 kiddos, 5 and under!!) and while it sounds slightly creepy- I just really like her (even though I have never met her)!
If you have never read her blog- check it out!!

Okay- that's about all the randomness I have for this early in the morning (it is 5:30 am :)
I actually had a lot of fun writing this post...kind of felt like I was having a chat over coffee with some girlfriends :)

Hope you have the BEST day and feel free to share some random tidbits that are going on in your life in the comments section!!

I am linking up with Annie and Natalie today!

  1. I started using the IT CC cream a few months ago! I absolutely love it. It really leaves my skin feeling great and has good coverage. I would say it is a build-able foundation. I think the lady on tv puts a LOT on to get that coverage. I don't put as much on, but I am happy with the look I get. I don't like to spend a lot on cosmetics, but this is one high end product I will continue to buy. I got mine on qvc.com where it comes with a very nice foundation brush for the same price. I had never used a foundation brush, but now love that too. Have a great day! :) Tanya

  2. We have no Valentines Day plans this year. And unfortunately I work on Sunday. I did get the girls some little gifts though. Brian and I usually don't do anything for each other, but he asked me the other day what I wanted and I told him "Nothing, but if you did get me something I wouldn't be upset!" Hahaha =) I will probably pick him up a box of Chocolates and a card =)
    I haven't read Grace's Blog, but now I think I need to!!
I hope you have a great Thursday!!

  3. I absolutely have to buy UD eye shadows separately when the color runs out in my NAKED pallette. Even worse, half the time I like and use colors they don't sell separately! So I have to research a dupe which usually ends up being a MAC color. Thank goodness for MAC!

For Valentine's Day we'll be a church a lot. Our church has had a Life Action Ministries summit happening for the past 2 weeks and Sunday is the conclusion. We've been a church SO much but we've really been touched by the Lord during that time. So well most likely celebrate on Saturday when we have a break from the summit. ❤️

  4. I cannot tell you how much I love the whole line of It cosmetics. But don't buy it at the store! Get it on qvc! Every couple of months they have kits that include 5-6 items for around $60. The value of those kits is amazing. I will only buy from qvc now :)
