Friday Favorites!
Hi!! Happy Friday!!!
WHEW! It's been quite the week at our house!! If you are one of the 3 people who read my blog daily, then you know that we have been hit with the back to school "sickies" this week.
It first started with James getting a fever last Saturday....he was a pitiful little mess all last weekend. Then, Cora woke up Tuesday morning complaining of a sore throat...and low and behold- she had a temperature of 102! The other girls were fever free...so they went to school. Well- Celine ended up with a 101 degree fever at preschool later in the day...then Charlotte came home from school on Wednesday with a temperature of 102 and then yesterday morning, precious little Marshall woke up with a fever of 101!! AAHHH! Having a big family is seriously THE BEST- except for when germs get passed around :)
The good news is: Cora, James and Celine are now fever free. Marshall is doing just fine and Charlotte should hopefully be on the mend by tomorrow.
Needless to say...this week has been a bit nutty!!
Honestly though- I can't complain...even when the whining and crying and the crazy, irrational requests- all fueled by "because I am sick..." were at an all time high- all I could think about were parents with children who REALLY deal with chronic health issues. My kids' fevers and chills are NOTHING compared to what other precious kiddos have to deal with- and I am just so thankful we have a healthy household 97% of the time!!
Okay...so I have a "mini" Friday Favorites post today...due to said kiddos being down and out. I had big intentions of getting my blog post ready last night while Aaron worked late....and instead I chose to watch QVC and then went and laid on my bed and mindlessly looked at recipes I want to try out. HA!

This little guy is SUCH a stinker...but he is my FAVORITE two year old in the whole entire world.
I was upstairs feeding Marshall and putting him down for a nap...and James, Charlotte and Celine were downstairs. The girls were totally zoned out watching Super Why...and James...well he was busy making the biggest Lego mess I think I have ever seen! HA!
When I came downstairs, he immediately gave me a huge smile and said, "Mommy. Legos. Dump. Sweep!"

I mentioned in my post yesterday that my new FAVORITE breakfast item is Kodiak Cakes pancake and waffle mix. Several of you commented and said it's your favorite too!! I love that they are PROTEIN PACKED and really taste SO yummy. There carry several different types of mixes, including a gluten free mix! If you are looking for some new and EASY breakfast ideas for your family- definitely check out Kodiak Cakes...you can go HERE to see what stores in your area carry the mixes!

On Tuesday, I shared what's inside my makeup bag...and one of my "go-to" items is L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara! It was recommended to me by SO MANY of you!! Public Service Announcement- until the end of this Saturday- it is on sale at Target for $5!!! Got stock up if this is your FAVORITE mascara...or if you have never used it before- it's the perfect time to try it! :)

It's going to be a HAPPY WEEKEND at our house....tomorrow we are having a little art party for Cora's birthday and then on Sunday it is Cora's actual birthday!! I love that it worked out to where we can spend all weekend celebrating!! And before Cora's party...Charlotte and Cora have their first soccer practice/game and Aaron is their coach again this year! It's going to be a FUN and BUSY weekend and I am ready for it after our somewhat painfully slow week of being at home sick. HA!
And that's all I have for today...time to get the troops up and at 'em and get Cora Maye off to school! Fingers crossed EVERYONE in our house is FEVER FREE today! :)
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday and a WONDERFUL weekend!!
I am linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Friday Favorites Link Up!
Thank goodness most of the gang is feeling better! Hopefully, Cora will make it to school!! Happy Birthday to Cora!! Hope y'all have a great party!!
ReplyDeleteOh that James!! But look at that sweet face ;)
Thanks for the birthday wishes for Cora friend! She had a great day!!
DeleteI feel the same way when my crew is sick. My youngest has a terrible gag reflex, so literally every cold turns into a cleaning up puke for multiple nights and breathing treatments event and sometimes it's so tiring and frustrating, but I try and remember the families with truly sick kids and pray extra for them every time I feel tired or overwhelmed. I'm reminded to be so grateful for our overall health and really put the situation into perspective and pray for other more! Hope you guys have a great weekend celebrating!
ReplyDeleteYes Aja!! So many people live with such awful health conditions… A week of fevers as nothing!
DeleteOhhh Justine! I am so glad that your kiddos are on the mend. Oh my goodness, it's crazy they all got sick. I have my hands full when just my 2 are sick, so I can't imagine adding extra kiddos into it. Your a supermom in my book!! =)
ReplyDeleteHappy early BIRTHDAY to Cora!!!!! I hope you guys have the best weekend!!!
I am so not supermom johannah!! But thank you for saying that!! :) I just drink lots of coffee and I am thankful Netflix keeps my kiddos happy when they aren't feeling their best...TV is the best medicine..right?? Ha!
DeleteThe Lego picture...girl, that's my life everyday! I think I accidentally vacuumed up some legos yesterday. Oops. #sorrynotsorry
ReplyDeleteI am really intrigued by that waffle mix. I watch my carb intake, but sometimes the gluten free items, are lower in carb. I'll have to check it out.
Hope your kiddos are 100% today! Have a great weekend!
Ahhhh James!! Oh my goodness - I love that you captured that sweet smile among the mess of legos!! What a funny boy!! Hope everything is feeling much better today and you can enjoy Cora's birthday weekend SICK free!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad everyone is on the mend! Happy birthday to your Cora!! I hope she has a great party!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time visiting your blog - so cute! The Lego picture cracked me up - how can you be mad when that cute little sweeper is smiling at you? ;) I'm also a BIG FAN of the Kodiak cakes. I actually found individual cups at Target for mornings when I need a quick breakfast at work, and they're pretty tasty, too! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHope everyone makes a quick recovery!! That's no fun for all the germs to pass through everyone. I love that you snapped a picture of James with his Lego explosion! He looks so dang proud of himself :) Sometimes I snap a picture, count to ten and then react to crazy scenarios like this one. I've never had Kodiak cakes before so I'm intrigued! They sound tasty
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try those Kodiak pancakes. I'm always looking for healthier options for my carb-addict daughter! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteFeel better, & that is one epic Lego mess!!! (As well as one super cute boy!)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Yes! Seriously Legos were everywhere! He is lucky he is a cutie! :)
