Tuesday Talk: What's In My Makeup Bag!
Hi!! Happy Tuesday!!
I hope you all had a great weekend and your week is off to a great start!
Our sweet little Celine started her 2nd year of preschool yesterday- so all 3 of my girls are back in school!
Sooo...I am a total makeup junkie. I wear makeup almost every day and I love finding new products to try! I always have so much fun reading about what makeup other ladies use and love...so I thought it would be fun to show you what's inside my makeup bag today!!
With the exception of one item I use, all of these products ring up at $10 and under!!
This is seriously SO me! HAHAHA! I truly get giddy when I walk into Ulta or even just get to take my time and browse the makeup section at Walmart!! HA!
First up is the newest product I have been using!
I just got this BB cream last week and I am absolutely LOVING it! It is Rimmel's 9-in-1 Skin Perfecting Super Makeup BB Cream and I got it at Walmart for $6.47!
I really, really like this BB cream. I have been wanting to try one for awhile and just decided on a whim to give this one a try! I put on a little bit more than a pea size amount of this cream after I have washed my face in the morning- and it has been working great as a combined moisturizer, SPF and foundation for me!! It provides just the right amount of coverage, makes my face feel hydrated- but totally not greasy and MAJOR bonus- it has SPF in it! If you have been looking for a good BB cream- definitely think about giving this one a try! At $6.47- you have nothing to lose if you don't end up caring for it! :)
These next 8 products are my everyday "GO-TO's!"
//1// Elf Kohl Eyeliner-
This is a nice, chunky, black eyeliner- it blends really well and it is only $3!! I have been using this eyeliner for a couple years now and I love it!
//2// Milani Baked Blush
Are you familiar with the makeup artist Laura Geller? Well- she has a very high end line of makeup and it revolves around "baked" blushes, bronzers, eyeshadows, etc. Anyway...Milani is another makeup line that has "baked" products- except they are MUCH less expensive than the Laura Geller brand. I first learned about the Milani Baked Blushes from Meg O. on the Go- she did a great blog post on the best drugtore blushes and the Milani Baked Blush was one of her favorites! I tried it out and LOVED it!! Now I own three baked blushes- in different shades! They are beautiful, shimmery and look SO pretty!
FYI: These blushes can be hard to find...the best luck I have had is finding them at my local Walmart (although the selection was limited), Meijer (it's a Midwest grocery store) and CVS.
LOVE this lip balm!! It goes on so smooth, isn't clumpy at all and really hydrates my dry lips! I love the little bit of shimmer that come from the crystals...if I am not in the mood to wear a colored lip gloss- this is always what I put on!
I use this powder after I have applied my BB cream and I love the way it smooths and evens out my complexion! I feel like it does a great job of staying "put" and really helps keep the "shine" off of my face!
I have been using this Cover Girl eyeshadow for YEARS! I use it as my "base" color for my lids, as a highlighter for right under my lower lashes and put just a touch of it right along the arch of my eyebrow. It also blends great with other shadows! If you can't find the color "champagne" another favorite of mine is "pink chiffon."
//6// Milani Baked Bronzer
Another Milani product on I am hooked on: Baked Bronzer!! I have used A LOT of bronzers...including really nice brands like Urban Decay and Laura Geller...and this bronzer, in my opionion, is the BEST!!! It is so rich in color, does NOT look orangey at all when applied on your face and provides just the right amount of shimmer and color! LOVE it!
I am ALWAYS buying and trying out new mascaras....but about 3 or 4 months ago- I asked all of you what your favorite mascara was...and the almost unanimous answer was L'Oreal Voluminous!!! So of course I tried it out and it has now become my FAVORITE mascara!!
It is just under $6 at Walmart...but this week it is on sale at Target (along with some other mascara) for FIVE DOLLARS!! Such a steal for such an awesome mascara!!
And now for the one item that costs more than the rest of my makeup combined- HA!
My beauty "splurge" is the Naked 2 eye shadow palette by Urban Decay. I know so many of you also use this eyeshadow palette....wouldn't you agree it is worth every penny? It is $54- which just really sounds crazy for a bunch of eyeshadows- but the quality of these eyeshadows are amazing. And they last FOREVER! I had my first Naked 2 palette for over 2 years before I replaced it this past February. A little goes a long with these eyeshadows and the color stays put! If you are on the fence about trying this eyeshadow palette out- I HIGHLY recommend it! And if you can't justify the purchase right now- put it on your Christmas list!! ;) I always feel better when I get things I normally wouldn't buy (because of the price) as a gift- HA!

And there you have it!!
That's everything that I have and use everyday when I put on my makeup!
Now it's your turn...I want to know some of YOUR favorite products/items in your makeup bag!! What are some of your "go-to's" when you are putting on your "face?"
Okay- now it's time to link up with my favorite ladies for Tuesday Talk!

I LOVE this post! I just asked on my Tuesday Talk today about a foundation! I need a new one! HAHA
ReplyDeleteToo funny Heather!! Let me know what you think of the BB cream if you try it out!
DeleteAll your makeup choices are great! I need to find the elf eyeliner. I have a hard time finding elf brand around here and I don't know why. I am always on the lookout for a great eye liner. And I am with you the Naked2 palette is my favorite!! My husbands cousin just designed a palette for the brand Honest by Jessica Alba and I CANNOT wait to get my hands on it! =)
ReplyDeleteMy current favorite makeup item right now is my Urban Decay eye primer. I love the stuff!
Have a great day, Justine =)
I just looked up your cousin's eye shadow palette!! SO AMAZING!! I am putting it on my birthday list!! That is just so awesome!!
DeleteBB cream is my go to foundation. It gives enough coverage but I don't feel like I'm wearing a face-full of makeup.
ReplyDeleteI cannot bring myself to pay more than $8-10 for something makeup related so I stick to my "drugstore" aisle items instead of department store makeup counters and love them all! I've had my eye on the urban decay palette for a loooong time and can't bite the bullet, but like you said...maybe Santa will find out I've been wanting one!
ReplyDeleteMake sure Santa knows he can pick up a Naked 2 Palette at Ulta...just in case he didn't know :) HA!
DeleteYour make up always looks great so I loved reading about your favorites. My favorite make up right now is bare minerals primer, powder foundation, concealer, bronzer which is a bit of splurge. So I compensate for that by using elf blush, elf brushes and drug store mascara. My fave mascara for several years running is Covergirl Professional Super Thick Lash. I do a layer of regular, a layer of waterproof to help it set. It works like a charm and looks great all day :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am the type of girl that wears makeup everyday...even when I'm just home with the kids, but I don't necessarily want to put on a bunch of makeup, and I certainly don't want to waste my good stuff on potty training. I will definitely give this a try. Thanks for the recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI have several of the items you mentioned (those palettes are the absolute best and last for years!) but since I ran to Walmart, I picked up one of those cover girl shadows in champagne...just what I needed! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh yay!! So fun!! It seriously is one of my all time favorite eye shadows!!
DeleteL'Oreal Voluminous for the win!! You introduced it to me as well!! I need to just go for the Urban Decay palette -people swear by them!!
ReplyDeleteAfter your previous review of the Milani blush in Luminoso, I had to try it. I LOVE it! Target has it on their website for $7.29. With a RedCard it's $6.93 + free shipping. I also love the L'Oreal Voluminous mascara (that I also tried because of your blog). Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery valuable information, it is not at all blogs that we find this, congratulations I was looking for something like that and found it here. Best Makeup Tips
